Mokodu Fall sur Kelen

Mokodu Fall is a Senegalese artist born in 1975. He is the son of a diplomat. After practicing his art in his country in the early 1990s as a political cartoonist for the magazines "Afrique Economique" and "Le Débat", he moved to Italy in 1995 where he continued his passion for painting. His work deeply reflects his country of origin despite the geographical distance and the discovery of new cultures. The artist is a specialist in figurative / portrait painting and his work reflects people who have contributed to the development of African culture, world peace and urban cultures.  

His work, which depicts characters of great personality around the world such as Barack Obama, Cheikh Anta Diop, Leopold Sedar Senghor, Nelson Mandela but also musicians such as Ray Charles, Bob Marley and Youssou Ndour, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. According to him, music is a way to spread peace and unity around the world. 

His work has been presented in many exhibitions around the world including the African art fair of October 2015 in Paris (France)  ; in May 2015 the Biennale contemporary art and culture in Rome (Italy)  ;  in May 2016 Dak'art Dakar (Senegal).  

His achievements are far from the refined style common to many painters. Mokodu uses various figurative techniques but oil on canvas is his favorite technique.
